Bass Solos are not for the Faint of Heart

Nothing is more controversial for a rock band than the “bass solo.” Whether the talent exists, or not, to procure such a thing, the thought of the words “bass solo” still leaves one question in the listeners mind… “Why?” Well everyone knows that The Foshays bassman, Joey Miece is a stone groove, so we thought he might have his finger on the pulse of this particular issue. “I just think the bass can be more than the driving force behind the song, you know what I mean? A bass can be used in a lot of surprising ways. Like did you know a bass can be, what we musicians call ‘Funky!” UHHHHH? “And guess what? One time Freddy kicked my bass down the stairs and it made on the album! So as you can see the bass is more than the sum of its parts.”
